We were talking about chemistry at the dinner table last night (hubby has a science degree), and we were trying to explain chemical reactions, and what better way to show it then by making a volcano? So that's just what we did.
With a little baking soda & vinegar and an empty plastic bottle, we had lots of fun. The boy got to put the baking soda in, and 'helped' hubbymeasure the vinegar.
We kept the mess fairly contained on a tray, so it made clean up a little easier. Which is a big plus for any science experiment. We actually used up all the vinegar I had in the house, and the boy was desparate to make more volcanoes, so we had to go out and buy more today.
Guess that means there will be more explosions & bubbles in my kitchen!
